Congratulations to Toby Priest, St Thomas’ School, Goodwood (pictured), on receiving the prestigious Norma Jenner Award for Excellence in Health & Physical Education Teaching (Primary Years) at the ACHPER SA PE Week Dinner, Friday, 18th November.

Toby’s distinguished and well deserved achievement in this award, sees him join an impressive list of Catholic sector primary physical education teachers to have won this award for excellence, which includes Travis Henderson (formerly of St David’s, Tea Tree Gully), Nick Skewes (currently Xavier College, Two Wells), Scott Hughes (currently St Francis Xavier’s, Wynn Vale) and Kas Pillay (St Augustine’s, Salisbury).

As a further “feather in the cap” of the Catholic primary sector, three of the four finalists in the 2022 Norma Jenner Award are current physical education teachers in Catholic primary schools: Narelle Dew, Loreto College, and Tristan Lorensini, St Columba College, Andrew’s Farm.

Both Narelle and Tristan were not able to attend the PE Week Dinner, but you’ll see Narelle’s award attached to this news item.

Narelle, current President of SACPSSA, received a further recognition of her outstanding service to Loreto and SACPSSA, the certificate of which is also attached.

Congratulations to Toby, Narelle, Tristan and indeed all of the PE teachers in Catholic primary schools for the outstanding contribution you make to the learning, health and well being of the students in our schools.
